- In Africa, you can visit Tofo, in southern Mozambique. It is a nice coral known more for its abundance of manta rays, reef sharks, whale sharks and humpback whales. Another spot would be in Port Elizabeth, but the most incredible is Djibouti. Djibouti is a truly unique ecosystem where the mix of the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean means an abundance of marine life.
- In Asia, there are a douzen of places where one can scuba. I can quickly write down Borcay - a great place for beginners - and Ko Tao, in Thai, also great for beginners. Others places are recommended for experts only : Maldives and Yaeyama Islands in Japan.
- In Europe, the only good places are Sardinia, Cyprus, Malta and Sicily. Oh, don't forget Iceland, a great destination, truly wonderful.
- In Australia and Oceania we have (besides Fiji) the one and only Great Barrier Reef and the Kangaroo Island.
- In America continent, we have Floria keys, Nanaimo from Canada, in California we have Monterey, Channel Islands and Farallon Islands. Other great places are Yutacan, Galapagos, Taganga from Columbia, Belize, Bonaire, Cayman Islands, Honduras and over a douzen of places in Brazil.
Scuba vacations
Whether you are looking to spend your vacation in the world's last unexploited diving location, or simply need to discover true underwater beauty, you need to read the lines bellow.
Diving is a major travel activity: dedicated divers plan entire dive holidays, and others may want to include dive sites in their itineraries.
When planning this kind of vacations, one usually should search an island with pristine and highly diverse coral reefs, steep walls, pinnacles and shipwrecks that are ideal for underwater adventures.
Many divers prefer liveaboards, where they sleep on the dive boat. This can save on accommodation costs, allow for more diving, and make it easy to get to know your fellow divers. Liveaboards range from 1 night in length to a fortnight or more. Liveaboards typically allow between 3 and 5 dives per day (depending on time and dive tables). The accommodation quality ranges from backpacker-esque, with 4-share cabins and showers shared between multiple cabins, to luxury cruise style accommodations. If you haven't opted for a luxury liveaboard, you will get your dives for about two thirds the cost of a day trip on a boat, even leaving aside any savings on accommodation.
2 places I love most are thee Fiji islands and the Kauai Hawaii resort, but there are a lot of spot out there:
